The University Marine Energy Research Community (UMERC) is a U.S. Department of Energy Water Power Technologies Office sponsored program coordinated by the Pacific Ocean Energy Trust (POET). UMERC fosters collaboration within the U.S. marine energy research community and amplifies the impacts of foundational research. The organization is focused on university research, and especially increasing knowledge transfer between universities, national laboratories, and industry.
